News: Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., National Memorial is becoming more of a reality than a dream. The memorial is just $14 million shy of the $120 million goal.

The memorial would be the first of its kind on the National Mall, as other monuments have only depicted past presidents or war veterans. As an African-American and advocate for non-violent civil action, Dr. King’s legacy presents a unique historical perspective on the sacrifices made for freedoms in the United States.
